I'll Praise Him During the Storm

The title appears appropriate, especially with storm Debby looming over us at the moment along with this cancer storm.

Today, I come to you with the first of many Praise reports. You guys, your prayers have been working. Tomorrow will make a week since my 1st treatment, and I have been doing pretty well considering. The Red Devil drug is supposed to be pretty tough on your body. I think I'm on like 3 different nausea medications if that helps paint the picture. But, GOD!!!! Yall, I have not once been sick, PRAISE THE LORD. I am quiet the opposite. I am having a large appetite, thanks to the steroids. I LOVE FOOD!! Let's just be real, a lot of our social life is based around FOOD.. LOL... So being able to still eat what I want within reason has been so amazing and makes me so HAPPY! Each time I get the RED DEVIL drug I will have to make a follow-up trip to Greenville to receive a booster, which I got Monday. I was even told by the nurse to expect bone pain and a lot of other symptoms with that shot. As of today, the only REAL symptom is fatigue, some achiness and headaches. By noon, I am looking a pillow, but I'm learning how to take naps. :)

Today, Austin, Mom and I journeyed to Greenville for follow-up appointments. Austin decided to drive us because of the bad weather. Mom had a check-up and I had to do bloodwork to check my levels and meet with the doctor. It's still so surreal that Mom and I are going thru this together. Mom's appointment was at 2:00 and mine was at 3:00 but they called me back early. We actually passed in the hallway and gave each other a high five, while going to 2 different areas of the building. The nurse giggled and I said "That's my Mama." Praise report #2, my bloodwork looked amazing the doctor said. My numbers were great. GO GOD! I was so thankful to hear that news. I even said to her, "I keep preparing myself for the bad, is it coming?" She told me the odds are if I have not been real sick thus far I probably want be, meaning the medication combination we are doing is working beautifully. I was so excited I could of jumped for joy!! So I am set on go for next Friday (Week from tomorrow) to get my next treatment.

Praise report #3, Mama got a good report too. Thankful for that as well. I was so excited to share all the good news with yall!

Overall, I just feel really blessed. I'm so thankful for the prayers, cards (happy mail), text, calls, gifts, meals and donations. God has blessed us more than we deserve, to have people like you in our corner praying and encouraging us every step of the way.

Prayer Request: Pray that my symptoms stay manageable with rest and that I continue to stay well (immune system).
